Sue has many years’ experience  working with families and children. She has worked for a number of years in the (former) Family Court of Australia, now the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.

Separation can be a difficult time for families. Sue takes a systemic approach with families.

The aim is for children to have a meaningful, safe and positive relationship with both parents.

 

Sue Adams

Sue is a registered psychologist who has had more than 20 years’ experience working with separated families in a variety of settings, including six years working in the Family Court system.

Sue is particularly committed to helping children thrive in a post-separation environment and assisting parents to support their children. Her work is about equipping families to navigate this often difficult transition period.

Sue utlilises a variety of evidence-based approaches to equip parents to support their children and to provide their children with coping strategies.

Sue has training and experience in complex trauma and resist/refuse dynamics.

She also undertakes family assessments including family reports and child impact reports.

Sue is an accredited Parenting Coordinator. As a Parenting Coordinator, Sue can assist parents to implement their final parenting Orders. Parenting Coordination may also help parents improve their co-parenting and build effective communication for the benefit of their children.

Sue has undertaken specialised training with William James College in the USA to assist this work with families who are in conflict and where resist/refuse dynamics are present.

We are delighted that Rani also joined the team to assist with administrative duties. Rani also has many years of experience working in the area of family separation.
