Parenting Coordination

Parenting Coordination (PC) is ideal for parents post final orders as a means of avoiding return to court due to breaches of Orders and/or further conflict from escalating.

PC provides parents with an opportunity to resolve smaller issues which are not covered in final orders, in a safe and neutral environment. PC is also offered with the intent of assisting parents to build a cooperative and effective coparenting alliance, which is in the best interests of their children.

Parents normally meet with their Coordinator once a month with a number of issues to explore in a 90 minute session.

The aim is to complete the session with some written agreements (good-faith) about parenting issues and the development of some new skills.

Issues may include how much screen time is suitable for the children, homework routines for the children, extracurricular activities, children’s access to social media.

Skill development may include communication strategies and defusing conflict. PC is not confidential. All parents are required to sign a service agreement.

Please contact our team for draft Orders and fee information.

Therapeutic Contact Program

Sue offers Family therapy in the therapeutic contact program.

Sometimes families require more than family therapy to assist them to rebuild their relationships.

The therapeutic contact program offers families the opportunity to address resist/refuse dynamics by engaging in therapeutic “time with” sessions between a parent and child/ren,
supported by therapy sessions. This offers the possibility of a smooth transition to supervised or unsupervised time outside the service. This may be reportable or non-reportable.
